Trench Made Society™ | For Serious Business Owners

You Built the Business But Somehow It Still Runs You

If your crews are busy, jobs are booked, and you’re still stuck in the middle of everything… this is where most owners realize something has to change.

The numbers nobody puts on the brochure

  • 1 in 5

new businesses close inside their first year.

  • 48.6%

    are gone by year five.

  • 82%

of the businesses that fail go down because of cash flow.

  • 20–40%

knocked off your sale price when the business can’t run without you.

Look.

Do you know how hard it is to keep a startup from bleeding cash?

You do. You live it every week.

You front the materials. You make payroll Thursday. The customer pays you in 30 days if you’re lucky, and subcontractors wait an average of 54 days to get paid on a pay app. That gap between when the money goes out and when it comes back in is where businesses go to die.

It’s not that you can’t do the work. You’re the best guy on the job. It’s that nobody ever showed you how to run the money behind the work.

Payment-cycle figure: Billd 2025 National Subcontractor Market Report.

Where the cash walks out the back door

  • Underbid jobs you won and lost money on
  • Materials fronted out of your own pocket
  • Checks that show up 30, 45, 60 days late
  • The truck note, the insurance renewal, the equipment that broke
  • The guy who quit Monday with three jobs on the board
  • The lawsuit you never saw coming
  • Your own paycheck, the first one you skip

“Most guys don’t realize this until it’s too late…”

This is where startups break, even when the schedule is full and the phone is ringing.

So let me ask you two questions.

  1. “Why are you doing this alone?”

Nobody builds a company alone. Not the guys you look up to, not the companies you see on trucks all over town. They all had somebody in their corner who had already been there.

  2. “And why the hell are you taking advice from someone who has never started a business?”

The guru who never made payroll. The cousin with a W-2. The YouTube coach who never had a crew walk off a job. They can’t teach you what they’ve never lived.

You wouldn’t let a guy who’s never framed a wall build your house. Stop letting people who’ve never started a company tell you how to run yours.

Here's the truth

There's a reason private equity won't touch a startup.

Private equity firms don't buy startups. Most won't even get involved with them. A startup is the riskiest bet in business, and they know it.

  1. They buy proof, not potential.

Private equity looks for operating history, repeatable earnings, clean records and a management layer. A startup has none of that yet.

  2. They buy profit, not hustle.

Revenue doesn't impress them. Busy doesn't impress them. Stable, predictable cash flow does. If the money only moves when you're on the truck, it isn't worth much to them.

  3. They pay less when it all runs through you.

A trades business that can run without the owner can trade around 5.5x to 7x EBITDA. The same business when the owner is the business: 3.5x to 4.5x, or no serious buyer at all.

In the next 12 months
you will…

Six shifts that turn a business that runs on you into one that runs on structure.

Install a battlefield operating system

into your business, so it runs on structure, not on you putting out fires.

  • Clear roles so every job has an owner
  • A weekly rhythm your crew can run without you
  • Numbers you can read in minutes, not hours
02 / 06

Stack profit months

you didn't think were possible, by plugging the silent cash leaks that bleed blue-collar businesses dry.

  • Find where margin leaks on every job
  • Price the work for profit, not for volume
  • See the cash coming months ahead
03 / 06

Build a crew that operates without you

standing over their shoulder, using a combat-tested leadership framework, not corporate HR handbooks.

  • Leaders who make the call when you're not there
  • Standards the whole crew holds each other to
  • Accountability without babysitting
04 / 06

Get the exact field-built playbook

Bryan used to go from one truck to a multi-brand portfolio. No theory, no fluff, just the moves he made in the mud.

  • The real moves, in the order he made them
  • What worked, what failed, and why
  • Built for the trades, not for a classroom
05 / 06

Stand shoulder to shoulder

with a private brotherhood of men who built from the bottom. Not a networking group, a trench-level bond.

  • Owners who've been exactly where you are
  • Straight talk, no networking games
  • A room that holds you to your word
06 / 06

Escape the chaos loop

and install discipline and a real plan, so you command your schedule, your money and your family's future.

  • A plan for the week before it starts
  • Time back for the people at home
  • Discipline that compounds month after month
Bryan, founder of Trench Made Society, standing in front of an American flag

Founder, Trench Made Society

My name is Bryan.

For the past 15 years I’ve started companies from the ground up. No investors. No rich uncle. Just the work, the dirt and a lot of expensive lessons.

I’m a Marine. I built Dudes Company in Knoxville. I built Charlie Company, a veteran-led outdoor construction and exterior restoration company. I’ve financed trucks I couldn’t afford, made payroll on a credit card and lost jobs I underbid. And I made every one of those companies work.

I’m not a guru reading off a slide. I’m a startup operator who has been exactly where you’re standing.

The team that runs this room

Veteran startup operators. We know.

Every person who runs Trench Made Society has started a company from nothing. We know what it’s like to be in the trench and in the field. Not from a book. First hand.

  • Lawsuits
  • Crews quitting out of nowhere
  • Payroll with nothing in the account
  • The customer who won’t pay
  • The partner who walks
  • A private equity deal that annihilated us

We sold to private equity. They annihilated us.

We’ve been on the wrong side of that table. We learned what happens when you walk into a deal without leverage, without clean books and without the right structure.

Now we know how to hold all the leverage. More important, we know the right structure for a business that is profitable and valuable, the kind a buyer has to pay full price for.

Bryan Wiggins & Ken Wright

Bryan brings 15 years of building blue-collar companies from the ground up. Ken brings large-company operating and exit experience: corporate structure, governance and the difference between a busy truck and a business someone would actually buy.

We’re here to help you. And it is nothing short of hard fricken work.

“You’re not in the wrong field… you’re just missing the right structure”

Structure is what turns a startup into a business somebody would pay for.

The way out

Trench Made Society™.

The room where startup operators get the playbook from people who already survived the five years. Five moves, tested inside our own companies before they ever get handed to you.

  1. Base

Entity, books, cash reserve. Pour it right.

  2. Leads

A pipeline that doesn't depend on referrals and luck.

  3. Price

Every job pays the business first.

  4. Deliver

Crews and SOPs that run without you.

  5. Money

Numbers clean enough for a buyer to trust.

Picture it 12 months from now

It's Thursday. Payroll clears and you didn't have to move money around to make it happen.

Your PM is running the crew on the job across town. You're not on the truck. You're at your kid's game, and the deposit for next week's job just hit the account.

You open your numbers and you know your real margin on every job. Not the one you hope it is.

And for the first time, you're building something somebody would actually pay full price for.

This is for you if

  • You own a blue-collar or home-service startup: deck, exterior, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, painting, landscape, fence, concrete, any trade.
  • You're somewhere inside the 5-year window and you feel the bleed.
  • You want a business that's profitable and valuable, not just busy.
  • You'll do the hard work. You just need the system and the room.

This is not for you if

  • You're an employee looking to pick a brain for a side hustle.
  • You want motivation, not a plan.
  • You're looking for a hack instead of a standard.
  • You won't run the play after you get it.

Questions

Who is Trench Made Society for?

Blue-collar and home-service owners running a startup inside the 5-year window. If the business is busy but still bleeding cash, and still runs through you, this is your room.

Why should I listen to you?

Because we've done it. Everyone who runs this room has started companies from nothing. We've dealt with the lawsuits, the crews quitting, the payroll pressure, and we've been on the wrong side of a private equity deal. You're getting the playbook from people who lived it, not people who read about it.

Why isn't this free? Bryan posts a lot for free.

Free content can wake you up. It can't look at your numbers, hold you accountable or tell you the truth about your pricing. If $50 a month, less than one tank of diesel, is too much to invest in the business that feeds your family, this isn't your room.

Will this make me money?

We give you the playbooks, the room and the standard. You bring the work. Nobody can promise you a number, and anybody who does is lying to you.

Do the lower levels get the Tier 1 and Tier 2 courses?

No. The full courses are only inside Trench Made. Every level gets the coaching library and the playbooks for that level.

Can I move up later?

Yes. Start in the Brotherhood and move up whenever you're ready. Monthly levels cancel anytime.

Path one

Keep doing it alone. Keep taking advice from people who've never started anything. Keep bleeding cash and hope you're in the half that's still standing in five years.

Path two

Step into the room with veteran startup operators. Stop the bleed. Get profitable inside the window. Build a business with the structure and the leverage that a buyer has to respect.

It's nothing short of hard work. Are you ready?
